EduVille was born in Chitungwiza, Zimbabwe, in 2025 — from an idea that started with one student asking a simple question:
"What if there was a place where students could share notes, past papers and tutorials freely?"
That student was Edmore Taroiwa, then in Form 5 at Seke 4 High School. He imagined a platform where African students could access the same quality of study material regardless of their background.
Together with his friend Benjamin Nyamukusa, he started building EduVille. First on Termux, then on GitHub Pages. The platform grew — with video lessons, study notes, past paper references, an AI tutor, and progress tracking.
Today, EduVille serves students across Zimbabwe, Botswana and beyond — and it remains completely free.
The concept of a free, student-built learning platform is formed while studying at Seke 4 High School.
Edmore and Benjamin decide to officially start the project and name it EduVille.
EduVille v1 launches on GitHub Pages — proving the concept works.
The platform is rebuilt with Supabase, an AI tutor (TymerCRE), progress tracking, and a custom domain — eduvillelearning.africa.
EduVille is built and maintained by two students from Seke 4 High School, Chitungwiza.

We fund the platform ourselves, through our own time and, in the future, through partnerships with organisations that share our mission — never by charging students or selling their data.
If EduVille ever has to change that, we'll tell you publicly, on this page, before it happens. That's our commitment.
