Our Story
How EduVille came to be โ from a Form 5 dream to a platform for every learner.
๐ก The Idea
EduVille started as a simple question asked by a Form 5 student in Chitungwiza: "What if there was a GitHub for education?"
Just like GitHub lets developers share code, EduVille lets students and teachers share past exam papers, notes, and study resources โ so no learner ever struggles to find quality material again.
Then came a second thought: "What if there was a TikTok โ but only for education?" A place where teachers could stream tutorials, and students could learn in short, engaging videos. That's the video streaming side of EduVille.
๐ ๏ธ The Journey
The first attempt to build EduVille was made in Termux (a Linux terminal for Android). It worked while the app was open โ but the moment the terminal closed, everything disappeared. It was frustrating, but it proved the idea was worth chasing.
A turning point came when two friends โ Edmore Taroiwa and Benjamin Nyamukusa โ decided to officially start a project called EduVille. The original name was Eduhubb, but it was renamed to EduVille โ a place where education becomes a community.
Today, EduVille is live โ hosting courses, video lessons, notes, and a growing community of learners. And this is only the beginning.
