EduVille is a free educational platform built for African students, with a focus on those studying ZIMSEC, Cambridge, and BEC curricula. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data responsibly.

2. Information We Collect

When you create an EduVille account, we collect only the minimum information required:

Full name — to personalize your experience and display your name on the platform
Email address — for account login and password recovery
Role — whether you are a student or teacher (to show appropriate features)
Learning progress — which lessons you have completed and bookmarked
Chat history — conversations with our AI tutor, TymerCRE

3. Information We Do NOT Collect

EduVille does not collect, request, or store:

Your phone number
Your physical address
Your payment information (EduVille is completely free)
Your location or GPS data
Your personal contacts or photos
Any data from other apps on your device

4. How We Use Your Information

Your information is used solely for:

Creating and managing your EduVille account
Displaying your name where relevant (profile, comments)
Tracking your learning progress across courses
Saving your conversations with TymerCRE (our AI tutor)
Improving the platform based on usage patterns

5. Where Your Data Is Stored

Your data is securely stored on Supabase, a trusted cloud platform used by thousands of organizations worldwide. Our database is hosted in Frankfurt, Germany (European Union), where strict data protection laws apply.

All data transmission is encrypted using HTTPS — the same technology banks use.

6. Who Can See Your Data

Your email address is private — only you can see it
Your name appears on your profile and any content you create (videos, papers, comments)
Your learning progress is only visible to you
Your TymerCRE conversations are saved but not shared with other users

We never sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties, advertisers, or government agencies.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access your data at any time
Request correction of inaccurate data
Request deletion of your account and all associated data
Withdraw consent at any time

EduVille is designed for secondary school students (typically ages 13 and above). We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you are under 13, please ask a parent or guardian before creating an account.

EduVille uses only essential cookies required for login and session management. We do not use tracking cookies or advertising cookies.

10. Third-Party Services

EduVille uses the following third-party services:

Supabase — for authentication and database (privacy policy: supabase.com/privacy)
Google Gemini AI — for the TymerCRE AI tutor (privacy policy: ai.google.dev)
GitHub Pages — for website hosting
YouTube — for embedded video lessons (privacy policy: youtube.com/privacy)
